The Performing Arts Centre at Wanneroo Secondary College, completed in December2022, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance the school’s specialist programsin dance, drama, and music. The centre features a 400m² theatre with a 250-seatretractable seating system, a dance studio, music and drama studios, green rooms,dressing rooms, a bio box, a mezzanine, a foyer, a general learning area, and stafffacilities. The project involved the conversion and extension of an existing gymnasium,with careful preservation of original elements like the timber parquetry flooring.Upgrades to the building’s envelope improved thermal and acoustic performance, anda new entry canopy was added to create a defined meeting point for visitors. The facilityserves as a hub for student performances and community events, significantlyenhancing the school’s performing arts education offerings.
