Mitchell Freeway Noise Barriers

As part of the Smart Freeway initiative, noise barriers were installed along the MitchellFreeway southbound between Hester Avenue and Vincent Street. The barriers featuresteel posts with precast concrete and acrylic panels, designed to reduce traffic noisefor nearby residents. Construction was managed to minimize disruption, with selectaccess via local roads. Environmental considerations included pre-construction noisemonitoring and native landscaping using collected seed stock. The upgrade supportsMain Roads WA’s goal of balancing transport infrastructure improvements withenhanced community amenity and environmental stewardship.
